morning comes after a night of insomnia

Now to catch up on the rest of day
with our back side to the winds of destiny.
How be it, we lost sight of the last turn of events
that could have changed the world, our lives
and everything we ever ate before going to work
off the weight upon our shoulders,
whose responsibility never shows up on time?

Who decided to include a complete list
of our assets to determine how old age
might catch up to the rest of our days,
and tomorrow, too?

We were not consulted.

The glue that sticks to our ribs.
