As
Winter Moves In
Clouds
crowd above branches stripped bare
In
Winter’s stark stare.
Silence
murmurs through cold air
As
if Nature doesn’t care.
Where
are the leaves when we need them
To
guard us against wind and frost?
They
have fled, taken cover in the ground below,
To
leave us alone and lost.
